Tail on Point: Where Passion Meets the Field

‍At Tail on Point, our lives revolve around the whistle, the wind, and the undeniable thrill of a dog on point. When we aren’t busy snuggling on the couch or sharpening our edge in Field Trials and Hunt Tests, you’ll find us exactly where we belong: in the field, following a brace of bird dogs.

‍We Love the Hunt—and We Love the Company

‍For us, upland hunting isn't just a hobby; it’s a way of life. But as much as we love the birds, we believe the best days in the field are the ones shared with others. Whether you are a seasoned wing-shooter or someone who has never stepped into a CRP field, we welcome the opportunity to hunt together.

‍Our Favorite Latitudes

‍We stay active throughout the season, transitioning from local honey holes to the wide-open prairies of the West:

  • Illinois: You can find us frequenting Controlled Pheasant locations throughout the state and spending quality time at Erianna Hunt Club.
  • The Heartland: We regularly head across the border to chase wild birds in Iowa.
  • The Bucket List: Every year, the call of South Dakota pulls us west for the ultimate upland experience.

‍New to the Sport? Let’s Get Started.

‍If you’ve always been interested in upland hunting but didn't know where to start—or if the logistics of a Western hunt seem's daunting—we are here to help.

‍From a local morning hunt to a dedicated weekend, or even a full week-long expedition in South Dakota, we can help make it happen. We love introducing newcomers to the magic of watching a dog work.

‍Give us a call today. Let's turn a "someday" trip into a day in the field you'll never forget.
